Bandra Afternoons Shirt - Murshidabad Handwoven Cotton

Murshidabad has been weaving exceptional cotton since the days of the Nawabs of Bengal. This weave has a loose, open structure that feels and drapes like linen — but it's cotton, so it's softer and far more forgiving. The pink and mint stripes are woven in using yarn-dyed threads, not printed. Each stripe is a deliberate decision made at the loom, by hand.

The open linen-like weave breathes exceptionally well — it doesn't trap heat or moisture, making it one of the best fabrics for warm weather. Because the colour is in the yarn itself, the stripes stay crisp and true without fading at the edges. It gets softer with every wash while holding its shape completely.

Pink and mint is a combination that's confident without being loud. The photo says it perfectly — dark trousers or black chinos ground the softness of the colours and give the outfit sharpness. Also works beautifully with white or cream for a cleaner, lighter look. Roll the sleeves, keep accessories out of the way. This one's effortless.

Machine wash cold on gentle, or hand wash. Wash separately the first time. Air dry in shade — the open weave dries fast. Minimal ironing needed; a light press while damp is enough. A little natural texture in the fabric is normal and intentional — it's what gives it that linen-like character.

• We offer a one-time size exchange on all shirts — same style, different size — within 7 days of delivery. The piece must be unworn, unwashed, and in its original packaging with tags intact.
