Cropped Blazer Kantha Sleeve Detail

Kantha is Bengal's oldest stitch tradition — running threads across fabric in flowing, freehand patterns, each one unique to the hand that made it. Here it lives on the sleeves: navy, orange, and red threads winding across lime green in a way no machine could replicate. The rest of the blazer is precision — contrast navy collar, structured pockets, clean topstitching. Traditional craft meets sharp tailoring, on the same garment.

6-ply Murshidabad handloom is the heaviest cotton in the range — dense, structured, and built to hold a tailored shape without interfacing or padding. It doesn't sag, stretch out, or lose its silhouette. The Kantha embroidery on the sleeves reinforces the fabric rather than weakening it. This is a blazer that will look as good in five years as it does today.

The lime green does the heavy lifting — everything else should step aside. Wear it over a fitted black or navy top with straight-leg black trousers or dark denim for a look that's sharp but not serious. The cropped length works especially well high-waisted — tuck in or tie whatever's underneath. Can elevate a simple outfit completely. Don't over-accessorise; the sleeve detail is the jewellery.

Hand wash cold — the embroidery deserves the extra care. Wash inside-out to protect the Kantha stitching and the face of the fabric. Do not wring. Dry flat or on a wide hanger to preserve the blazer's shape. Iron on medium heat inside-out, avoiding the embroidered sleeves. Store on a proper hanger to keep the shoulders structured.
