Kantha embroidery comes from Bengal — for centuries, women would stitch running patterns across layered fabric, turning worn cloth into something worth keeping. Every loop and dash you see on this vest was made by hand, needle by needle. The abstract shapes flowing across the orange aren't printed or stamped — they're stitched. Up close, you can see the irregularity of the human hand in every line. That's not inconsistency, that's proof of the work.

4-ply Murshidabad handloom cotton underneath gives the vest real structure and body — it won't lose its shape or go soft in the wrong places. The Kantha stitching itself reinforces the fabric, making it more durable than unembroidered cloth. The orange is yarn-dyed, so it stays vivid. The darker embroidery thread is dense enough to hold through regular wear and washing.

his is a statement piece — treat it like one. Let it anchor the outfit. Wear it over a simple white or ivory fitted top, with wide-leg trousers or a flowy skirt in black, chocolate brown, or deep olive. The orange is loud enough that everything around it should be quiet. Can also be worn alone as a top in the right setting — it's cropped enough to work.

Hand wash only — cold water, gentle detergent. The embroidery needs care; don't wring or twist. Lay flat to dry to preserve the shape of the vest and the tension of the stitching. Iron inside-out on medium heat, avoiding direct contact with the embroidered surface. Store folded, not on a hanger — the structure holds better that way.
